What many people may not know is that his work in Palestine was much more personal. He is the child of Palestinian immigrants, with several brothers and sisters who maintained their ties with Palestine as well. Dr. Saad Saad has spent a lot of his career trying to help people no matter what their background. In 2002, he was given the opportunity to work with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. This decision would prove to be a major game changer in his life. He worked with that foundation for most of his career. The bullet had done a substantial amount of damage to his abdominal region. There were not many doctors in Palestine who are trained to repair the damage. The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund flew the child into the United States so that Dr. Saad Saad could perform the surgery. The child survived, and all was well.

Eventually, Dr. Saad Saad saw fit to participate in medical missions to Palestine. He believed that if he could train the doctors there to perform these complex procedures they would not need to send children abroad to save their life.

He wanted to cut down on casualties and increase medical competence in the area. These missions became very important to Dr. Saad Saad.

He ended up going on eight in total. His last mission in 2015 was a very special one for him. During this mission, he received the Gold-Medal of Palestine. He was also graced with the presence of the president of that country.

Dr. Saad Saad has called his work with the less fortunate one of the best experiences of his life. He will continue to look at these memories finally, knowing that he has positively contributed to the future by saving the lives of countless children over the years.
